About The Butterfly Ball
Sarah E Pickles is proud to present The Butterfly Ball featuring the Butterfly Breast Cancer Awards 2027, taking place on Saturday 22nd May 2027 at Carden Park.
Previously known as the Butterfly Breast Cancer Awards, the event has naturally grown into something far bigger than an awards evening alone, which is why the event is now called The Butterfly Ball featuring the Butterfly Breast Cancer Awards.
Whilst the awards remain at the centre of the evening, the new name better reflects the atmosphere, energy and experience the night has become over the last few years.
Sarah wanted people to understand that this is not a sombre evening centred around sadness. It is a stylish black tie event filled with warmth, celebration, entertainment, emotion and connection. A room full of people coming together to celebrate life, courage, community and the people who make a difference to others every single day.
Many guests arrive not fully knowing what to expect, but leave talking about the atmosphere in the room, the friendships formed, the stories shared and the feeling of being part of something special.
Each year the event continues to evolve as Sarah is always looking at ways to make the evening even more beautiful, uplifting and memorable for guests attending. From the styling and entertainment to the finer details within the room, a huge amount of care, creativity and passion goes into creating an experience that people genuinely enjoy being part of.
The evening brings together women and men affected by breast cancer, alongside healthcare professionals, charities, businesses, supporters, friends and families. It shines a light on the strength people discover during difficult times and the incredible support that exists within the breast cancer community.
The Butterfly Ball was inspired by Sarah’s own experience after being diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2014 at the age of 32. Following chemotherapy and a double mastectomy with reconstruction, Sarah experienced first hand the emotional and physical impact breast cancer can have, but also the kindness, encouragement and human connection that can carry people through it.
During her journey, Sarah saw women rebuilding confidence, finding a new direction in life, supporting others through treatment and creating positive change from adversity. She also recognised the huge role played by healthcare teams, charities, loved ones and communities whose care and support often happens quietly behind the scenes.
These experiences later led Sarah to create Beating Breast Cancer With Success CIC, a community focused organisation dedicated to supporting and empowering those affected by breast cancer through connection, wellbeing, events, support, shared experiences and raising awareness, whilst also helping support future medical research and positive change within the breast cancer community.
From a reassuring message or a meal left at the door, to fundraising, practical help and emotional support, these acts of kindness can completely change someone’s experience during treatment and recovery.
The Butterfly Ball and Butterfly Breast Cancer Awards were created to celebrate those people. The ones who lift others up, stand beside people during their hardest moments and whose care, support and impact deserve to be recognised and celebrated, whilst also honouring the legacies of those who are no longer with us.
Today, The Butterfly Ball has become an elegant evening of celebration, recognition, entertainment, dancing, storytelling and connection, whilst raising awareness and bringing people together for an incredible cause.
